People With No Names, The Undocumented: #106

This is an 11" x 14" oil on stretched canvas of a woman in the deportee center in Nogales, Mexico.  She has small children in the United States.  She came to Mexico to see an ailing relative,  and now due to enhanced border security, cannot get back to her husband and children in the United States.  I remember that when my children were little I used to viscerally yearn for them when/if I had to be apart from them for any reason.  To hold that yearning in my body...and not to know when/if it could ever be assuaged...well I don't know if I could keep going.
